The Chiltern Landcare Group undertakes projects in the township of Chiltern and across a broad rural area. The group focuses on providing opportunities for their community to engage with nature and learn more about their local environment.
The Chiltern Landcare Group covers the area of the upper catchment of the Black Dog Creek, includes Chiltern, Indigo and Cornishtown. The area covers more than 300sq km of farmland, state forests and the Chiltern Box-Ironbark Forest.
Currently the group is focused on restoration works on local reserves and improving the biodiversity values of local agricultural land. In 2020 the group will undertake planting on indigenous plants at the Chiltern Racecourse Reserve, and are offering subsidised paddock trees and large mesh guards to increase paddock trees in their landscape.
This group is supported by Landcare Facilitator Kerrie Warburton 0418 427 730 firstname.lastname@example.org.
