North East & Surrounds Equine Landcare

NESEL is an interest focused Landcare group that promotes and supports environmentally sustainable equine care and ownership.

About North East & Surrounds Equine Landcare

North East & Surrounds Equine Landcare or NESEL aims to:

  • provide educational opportunities for individual horse owners as well as equine communities 
  • promote and support the development of cooperative events with local horse clubs and other Landcare groups 
  • strengthen engagement between equine owners, enthusiasts and communities by sharing knowledge and leading to better outcomes for the environment, horse owners and horses


Our activities include workshops and field days on: 

  • Parasite lifecycles and faecal egg counts 
  • Equine health and nutrition 
  • Pasture management 
  • Dung beetle benefits 
  • Fire preparedness for horse properties
  • Understanding soil types, biology and health
