Position: Ovens Landcare Network Facilitator
Employment Status: Permanent part-time
Employment Period: January 2026 - March 2028
Remuneration: Hourly rate of $44 with 12% superannuation contribution (plus car travel costs up to 200km per week based on ATO rates)
Reports to: This position will report to the VLF Manager who is a delegated member of the Ovens Landcare Network (OLN) Committee.
Overview
Are you passionate about supporting community-led environmental action? The Ovens Landcare Network (OLN) is seeking a permanent (2+ years) part-time Landcare Facilitator to join our dedicated team in the Ovens Valley, North East Victoria. The OLN includes 24 groups committed to natural resource management and environmental stewardship, and this facilitator role works closely with another part-time facilitator and a Support Officer.
Your role will focus on building local capacity, engaging community members, and fostering collaborative partnerships across Landcare Groups, Friends Groups, and government agencies. Key responsibilities include assisting with planning, project grant applications, monitoring and reporting, and promoting Landcare activities via various media platforms. You’ll also support emerging and small groups, building capacity and ensuring ongoing participation in Landcare initiatives.
We’re looking for someone who lives in the area with exceptional communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience in natural resource management, environmental science, agriculture or rural land management is highly regarded, along with community engagement and collaboration experience.
